Hi Lau Ah Pek

Yep, same with HDB flats. The overcrowding of Singapore due to the lax immigration policies for the last decade or so has seen our young couples being priced out of the HDB market. I worry for my daughter if HDB will cost $1million by the time she is old enough to buy a HDB.

I doubt if her wages or purchasing power will appreciate as much as inflation for housing!

Hi Panzer!

I was kinda cheesed that the policy was to penalise both car buyers and car users. They should just make cars cheap to buy but expensive to use willy nilly. I totally agree, for those who don't have a car and want to buy one, it is the nightmare of the $40,000 Cat A COE looming. The frightening thought if that if all this pent up buying frustration is released at one shot some time later, there would be many bids received, driving COE up high for sure.

With the SAF getting into all sorts of missions in Afghanistan. (Touch wood) if a taliban rocket/mortar attack/IED takes out Singaporean NSFs or regulars, how would the SAF public affairs spin such sacrifices defending "Singapore's interests" in a far flung land like Afghanistan to grieving families (whose parents need to fight tooth and nail against FT for a piece of the economic pie in SG)?!

The people who suffer are those who need a car. Those of us who bought prior to LTA's policy u-turn to make up for policy MISTAKES are okay but once our COEs near expiry, we hope that either the public transport infrastructure has been beefed up for the hordes of FT in Singapore or that COE prices are more realistic or that we are in the top 10% income earners so don't worry about such plebian issues.
